Eriksson Mountain Homes

Eriksson Mountain Homes

The building has a big heated pool, three huge outdoor hot tubs adjacent to the pool, a fully equipped fitness center, a children's game room, a guest/owner lounge, a guest services desk with concierge services, several computer workstations, a steam room, on-call shuttle around town, and a private locker room adjacent to the slopes with boot warmers and overnight indoor storage of skis. There is even a chair lift on site! Our guests benefit from the luxurious spa to attend to your every wish, a Vail Resorts ticket office, and the convenient and accommodating professionals in the Charter Sports Ski Shop all of which are located two levels below our unit, and immediately adjacent to the skier plaza.

The heated indoor parking is on our level, and the assigned space a short walk to our front door. You'll only use one elevator during your visit to access building amenities, and you'll be as convenient and close to the ski lift and ski-in access as possible.

Our home contains all the fine finishes and features you might hope to find in a Colorado mountain home, including radiant heat wood floors (and jumbo heated floor tile in the bathrooms), granite countertops, and fine cabinetry are located throughout. The wood trim and doors are all solid, warm knotty alder that enhances the cozy feel in our mountain retreat.

Living Space

Unit 301 features two bedrooms. A master bedroom has a king sized bed and attached master bathroom. The second bedroom has a queen sized bed, and a bathroom just outside its door. The condo also features a great living room. The living room has a gas fireplace and cable TV with DVD player, as well as an ipod dock. The balcony has a superb view of Mt. Baldy, making that table a beautiful place to enjoy a meal.

Ski in/Ski Out

Bluesky Breckenridge is a ski in/ski out building, with the Snowflake Lift in the plaza below. Guests can take either Snowflake run for a scenic, but fairly flat, run along the snowflake resevoir, and along the condos down to the snowflake chair, or take the 4 O'Clock run which is more downhill and stops just across the street from the chairlift.

Condo Features

The unit has an incredible living area. It features a large kitchen, fully equipped with stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, full sized refridgerator and freezer. The large granite countertops with plenty of counter space make this kitchen perfect to prepare your own meals. There is also a grill on the pool deck, which gets sunlight during the middle of the day. We always love grilling our lunch in the sun while enjoying the hot tub!

About Us

We are the proud parents of three adult children. Our oldest son who works in medical sales recently bought his first home, is getting married later this year, and lives in the north suburbs of Chicago. Our daughter is a high school teacher and lives with her husband in the same community where we live with our granddaughter. Lastly, our youngest son is a flight test pilot and aerospace engineer, and he lives and works in Oregon. He and his wife got married at Bluesky in 2018. My husband is the President of a consulting civil engineering, traffic engineering, and landscape design firm with several offices in the Chicago area. I manage our household, a small investment office building, and our two Bluesky mountain homes. We love to travel, enjoy being outdoors as much as possible, and spending time with family.

Why we Chose Breckenridge

Our family had been taking week-long skiing trips to Colorado for many years. Although we stayed in beautiful resort accommodations all over the state, we always kept being drawn back to the Town of Breckenridge. It's a mountain town with historic character, outstanding dining opportunities, and a ski resort that can keep everyone in our family happy for many days at a time. Its easy proximity to the other nearby mountain resorts makes it even more desirable, as we love taking day trips to Beaver Creek, Vail, Copper, Arapahoe Basin and Keystone. It's so easy to catch an early morning flight out of Chicago and be skiing by 10:30 AM - and we do that as often as possible! We had always stayed in the Snowflake area during our visits to Breckenridge, so when we learned that a beautiful new, high quality building was being constructed right next to the lift, we knew right away that it was a great opportunity for our family.

What Makes this Condo unique

We purchased Unit 301 in January of 2010. We have owned our other mountain home (Unit 302 – VRBO Listing #275697) since Bluesky was constructed in 2007. The two units are at the end of a quiet hallway, and the entrance doors are opposite each other. Because of this proximity to each other, we are easily able to host two families who wish to travel together, but still move freely and unimpeded between the rooms. Our two oldest children who love to cook fell in love with the kitchen and living area in this home. Both rooms are very spacious, bright, and sunny throughout the day, and have an incredible view of Baldy Mountain. The kitchen has abundant counter space, and plenty of storage. Our mountain homes both have an easy ski in/out location within the building and are an easy walking distance to town. Because both our homes are top floor corner units, they have raised ceilings in the living areas, incredible views, and cooling breezes from two sides during the summer months. During the spring ski season, you’ll enjoy basking in the sunshine on the deck after an incredible day on the slopes. We've stocked it with only the best furnishings, housewares, linens, convenience items, robes for your use while using the pool and spa area, and virtually anything else you may need. Bluesky has been a dream come true for our family... and the memories are growing more special each year.
